How A Lost Idea Became A Creative Agency

Ideas spawn in the most random places—on a walk, in the shower, during lunch, or while completing a project for a Computer Applications class. That’s exactly when an idea sparked in the mind of a high schooler and escaped as a whisper, “How cool would it be to own my own design company one day?”

Around the same time, another idea was hastily scribbled onto a scrap of paper: the name of a greeting card company. Without further exploration, that scribbled idea became a random bookmark.

During graduate school, the random bookmark resurfaced and the idea turned into a possible solution for a class project, leading to a few logo sketches. Sadly, that idea was again abandoned, but this time inside a sketchbook.

Fast-forward four years, and that same optimistic mind decided to launch a mini design agency. Yet, the perfect name remained illusive. Frustrated by the unproductive brainstorming session, the creatively drained mind skimmed through old sketchbooks. While flipping through one particular graduate-era sketchbook, the name of that abandoned greeting card company jumped off the page—Purposefully Selected.

Not as a greeting card thoughtfully chosen to communicate a message to a loved one, but as something more. A design detail purposefully selected to convey a visual message. A client purposefully selected to collaborate with a unique new design agency. A creative individual purposefully selected to transform an audible dream into a visual reality.

Purposefully Selected, a creative agency providing branding solutions to companies dedicated to the well-being of the whole individual.

Hold on to your ideas, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem.

Some ideas need time to reach their true potential. The idea that doesn’t solve today’s problem, might be the perfect solution tomorrow.

You never know when an idea will develop into a reality.
